Erick Víquez is a visual artist whose practice draws from the mythopoetic of his own observations of landscape, literature and art history. His work focuses on the nature of memory and time,using historical and personal archives, film and images from popular culture as resources to bring back new meanings through pictorial language. The visual expression of his work demonstrates a profound interest in gothic, colonial, and violent narratives originating from the history and culture of Latin America.
